ABOUT
Whispering Cry – in aid of abused women
This is a story of hope triumphing through troubled times
We chose Bet Shekoom-House of Restoration as our beneficiary because they are not only a haven for abused women but a place where women can find their dignity and become the women they were meant to be.
Whispering Cry is about a lost child, a grieving mother, and a patriarchal and familial system destroying the lives it is meant to protect.
A woman loses her child and without the support she needs, she slides into alcoholism and despair. Miraculously, she conceives again, but her world is shattered when she inadvertently kills her child. Haunted by this realization, she hears the child’s voice, calling her day and night.
Is she going mad, or is there something else taking place? What secret lies beneath the surface? Can the love of a woman for a child ever be broken or lost? Can her life turn around, and can hope be found?

Reviews:
“In the beginning, the situations seemed chaotic, and I didn’t know how they were going to bring the play to a close. But they did it in the best possible way. It left me with a lot to think about, and I enjoyed every minute” – Jean
“This show is amazing! The performing actors depicted the characters superbly! The poignancy of the story about a woman's heartache - caused by the action of a male in her life was extremely heart-rending - and the way it affected the other females in the story pulled at the heartstrings. A shocking action that led to a positive conclusion gives a lot of hope to women today.” Marianah - Bay FM 107.9
“Thank you for your thought-provoking play which we watched today. A deep subject passionately acted out. We were very moved by its content and will play it through in our minds for a while to come. Well done to you and your cast.” – Dave
